Understandably so,   for  Balita,  the fortnightly periodical, treads on those who consider themselves the high and mighty, the pretenders, the tricksters; and provides a voice to the oppressed and the afflicted, and the many members of the diaspora who are afraid to speak up. The vacancies in the Red Chamber are highlighted with the demise of Philippine-born Tobias Enverga on November 16. Before the tragedy, there were three empty slots for Ontario. Now it's four. By this time next year, three more would have already retired. Would Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appoint one from the Filipino community? Now, as in the recent past, it disrespects the dead to further its obsession. Its latest offensive was authored by a Vancouver-based surrogate, a "churnalist" most notable for his fake news and a lack of fundamental understanding of the issues.
